Carrom is a popular tabletop game played on a square wooden board. Players use a striker to pocket their coins into the corner pockets using finger shots. The game combines precision, strategy, and control.
🧩 Carrom Pieces
- White Coins – Assigned to one player/team
- Black Coins – Assigned to the opponent
- Queen (Red Coin) – Special coin with higher value
- Striker – Used to hit and pocket the coins
🎯 Objective of the Game
To pocket all your assigned coins and then legally cover the Queen before your opponent.
▶️ How to Play
- Decide the starting player (toss or strike).
- Place the striker within the baseline.
- Flick the striker using one finger to hit the coins.
- Pocketing a coin allows the player to continue their turn.
- Turns alternate when no coin is pocketed.
⚠️ Queen Rule (Important)
- The Queen can be pocketed at any time.
- After pocketing the Queen, the player must cover it by pocketing one of their own coins in the same or next turn.
- If not covered, the Queen is returned to the center.
❌ Fouls & Penalties
A foul occurs if:
- The striker is pocketed
- The striker crosses the diagonal line illegally
- A player pockets the opponent’s coin
- The striker is flicked with more than one finger
Penalty:
One pocketed coin is returned to the board (if available).
🏆 Winning the Game
You win when:
- All your coins are pocketed and
- The Queen is successfully covered
Points are calculated based on remaining coins on the board.
